In a thrilling sectional championship showdown, the Carroll Chargers emerged victorious over the South Side Archers with a 2–0 win, showcasing grit, teamwork, and a touch of irony in the scoring column. The match remained scoreless through the first half, with both teams trading possession and testing each other's defenses. South Side’s goalkeeper, Moises Ochoa (#94), stood tall with five saves, keeping Carroll at bay despite relentless pressure. On the other end, Carroll’s Boston Stansifer (#0) recorded four crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet. The breakthrough came with just under seven minutes left in the second half. Carroll’s #10 Landon Wells—ironically also a South Side player—found the back of the net off a sharp assist from #19 Zackary Demetriou. The goal, though credited to Wells, was an own goal that sealed South Side’s fate and gave Carroll the cushion they needed. Earlier in the half, South Side had a golden opportunity when #10 Landon Wells (this time in his own jersey) connected with #11 Cooper Goss for what appeared to be a goal with 35:40 remaining. However, the play was later ruled offside, nullifying the score and keeping the Archers off the board. With the win, Carroll advances to regional play, riding the momentum of a strong defensive performance and a bit of good fortune. For South Side, the season ends with heads held high after a hard-fought campaign and a valiant effort in the final match.
